Why Pole Dance?

Not only is pole dancing a great workout, it also encourages you to break out of your comfort zone and push yourself beyond your believed physical and mental abilities. Pole dancing is an amazing full body workout and continuously challenges you to keep working hard to achieve the countless number of beautiful pole tricks. Pole dancing will keep you coming back for more because there are always many different elements to work on. Flow, flexibility, strength and grace are all elements that individually take much hard work and dedication to master. Having to combine all these components keeps you very busy and constantly gives you a challenge.
Pole dancing also reconstructs the relationship with your body as you begin to focus on the things your body is capable of doing rather than the way it looks. Much of the dominate view of the female body places emphasis on what the female body looks like and whether it fits the male hetero-normative gaze. Pole dancing redirects the focus on the capabilities of the body and changes your personal relationship with your body. When you pole dance you will start to notice you develop a more positive body image.
When you slowly begin gaining strength, flexibility and coordination, your confidence also begins to rise. You start feeling more comfortable in your own skin and appreciate your hard work and your body. Feeling confident in yourself especially while revealing much of your body is very challenging for many. Being surrounded by women who share the same interest and common goals helps motivate you to strive for more and is very inspiring. The positive environment begins to rub off on you and those around you. You begin to learn things you never knew about yourself and discover a new side of you.
